As Christmas rapidly approaches (yes it’s next week!) we wanted to remind you of the importance of looking after yourself and prioritising wellbeing this festive season. We don’t just mean social distancing – of course, that’s on everyone’s minds this year and it means Christmas for many of us might not take shape in the way it usually does. This time of year can be stressful even outside of a global pandemic so we wanted to share our wellbeing tips that can help!
As interior designers and workplace consultancy experts we spend a significant amount of our time making sure the people are comfortable, motivated and productive. We are experts in strategising to ensure we get the very best out of people – usually in the workplace but in 2020 that also means at home.
Whether you’re taking the festivities online or making the most of who’s in your ‘bubble’ this year – we think it’s really important to allow time to disconnect from the online world. Taking time out to be focussed on the people who you’re socialising with is important but also will allow you to relax and not worry about what everybody else is or isn’t doing.
A tip we apply to the workplaces we design which is super important for wellbeing at home – take breaks! Whilst many of us are ‘on holiday’ from work over Christmas, it’s still important to make time for yourself – whether it’s going for a walk or reading a book. Festive socialising can be absolutely exhausting so make sure you plan in some time-out.
Communicate. Communication is one of the most beneficial wellbeing tools in and out of the workplace. Feeling overwhelmed or under-pressure can happen outside of your work deadlines. We think it’s crucial to share your feelings, plans and try to coordinate to relieve any burden or stresses – it’s all about teamwork!
We’re sending Christmas Wishes & Seasons Greetings to all of our friends, partners and clients!
