This week in the Wylde blog we’re getting into the festive spirit and providing you with some design friendly Christmas decor ideas and inspiration! Yes, we’re saying there is not an centimetre of tinsel or plastic tree in sight! In fact, we’ve found design solutions that are festive but won’t break the bank or turn your house upsidedown re-arranging layouts.
We’re here to say that you can be Christmassy without overdoing the red and green combo – you can still create festive cheer without the traditional colour schemes. Here’s our first tips – bring winter wonderland items into the home – we’re talking logs, pine cones and we’ve even seen some stunning creations with reindeer antlers! These beautifully simple additions can be immediately turned into festive focal points with candles or fairylights. The warmer your lighting the more gold hues you’ll introduce into the scheme. What we love most about these decor ideas is that there is no need to change your existing colour scheme and therefore this will work in any space!
Continuing the nature theme – add some pine spruces into the home. Whether you pluck a few branches to add to a vase or you opt for a miniature Christmas tree, you can keep it simple – there’s no need to rearrange the house and they smell gorgeous! We love the table decorations complimented with clementines and also the super chic door hanging.
Our final collection of festive design inspirations are all pieces you could make yourself at home – and there’s nothing like having a snuggly crafting session with mulled wine and festive tunes to get the Christmas mood started! Origami snowflakes are a cheap and delicate option for seasonal decor – these can be as complex or as simple as you like and they can be hung as wall decorations, popped on the tree or simply scattered across the table. Team white decor with red accents such as berries or red candles for that nod to all things Santa Claus!
We’re certainly getting some Christmas cheer with these design ideas and we hope you enjoy them too!
